Poughkeepsie Armory – Public Auction August 2
$50,000 Minimum Bid
61 Market Street
Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
The Poughkeepsie Armory, built in 1891, is an historic Romanesque-style brick and stone masonry building designed by architect Isaac Perry, famous for completing the design and construction of the New York State Capitol. The building consists of 23,024 square feet on .55 acre of land in downtown Poughkeepsie. For nearly 120 years, the armory housed the New York Army National Guard. Although no longer keeping with the needs of the twenty-first century military, the Poughkeepsie Armory remains an object of civic pride and is listed on both the National and State Registers of Historic Places. Today, the armory’s massive size opens its future to myriad possibilities, including trade shows and conventions, indoor sports, or cultural activities.
