Harriet Tubman Residential Center

The Harriet Tubman Residential Center, constructed in 1993, is a former New York State Office of Children and Family Services-managed rehabilitation home for young women, located outside of Auburn, New York in Cayuga County.
 

Auburn is a small city of approximately 27,000 citizens on the northern end of Owasco Lake in the heart of New York State’s Finger Lakes region. The Center is situated on nearly 110 acres of land, improved with 23,865 square feed of building improvements.
 

Significant structures include:

  • Main Residential Dormitory: 25-bed, 11,800-square-foot facility with offices, classrooms, kitchen/dining rooms, recreational space, and an emergency back-up generator with 500-gallon diesel tank.
  • Gymnasium: 6,600-square-foot facility with gym, restrooms, classroom and mechanical room.
  • Two maintenance garages with overhead doors, shop space, and a walk-in freezer.
